pestilence-demo

i was going to upload the whole pestilence demo tape, but its now being rereleased on vinyl by coffin cut records, so i'm just going to upload the first 3 songs with a scan of the original tape cover.
get it here
the demo was recorded in 88, early grindcore back when grindcore was a new thing. whilst being quite blasty, it has a real punk sound to it and a lot of almost UK82 style riffs in there. apparently members were big fans of disorder and the like. members included kim benjamin, who went on to form resolute, refuse and nailed down. and ian belford who went on to sing for storm of perversion.

rohan, reup my link - it's dead! Pestilence also contained Stuart Tonkin (RIP) who went on to play in Crippled Children and Death Wobbles, and Raph who played in The Clouds (info courtesy of Ian Belford)

Sorry, here's the full list of members Ian sent me, in order (hopefully): Kim - Guitar; Floyd - Guitar, then drums; Ian - vox; Bill - bass; Stuart - drums; John - bass; Matt - bass; Raph -drums. Ian will do a comprehensive bio for the ep.

A few songs ended up on the Nuclear blast "pleasures in life" double LP/CD compilation.

These guys were a blast to see live, they were pretty much the first grindcore band in Perth. So people were very keen to see them at the time. Stuart would always to do something really random.. great fun.

Thanks for this post, I used to see these guys in the late 80's at various dodgy venues around the metro area. Great band that should have recorded more. Kim was a hella nice bloke to boot.
